Your language and dark mode

The language switcher in the dashboard header shows the current language as a two-letter code. The dashboard is available in English and German today.

The choice is yours alone. Switching it does not change the language for anyone else on your team, and it does not change the language of your storefront, your receipts or your customer emails — those are set for the restaurant under Localisation.

Your choice is saved against your staff account, not just the browser, so it follows you to another computer the next time you sign in. The page reloads when you switch, which is expected.

The theme toggle switches between light and dark. Until you touch it, the dashboard follows your computer’s own light or dark setting — so a machine that goes dark in the evening takes the dashboard with it.

Once you choose explicitly, that choice sticks and stops following the computer. It is saved in the browser, which means it is per browser and per device: choosing dark on the office desktop does not make the POS tablet dark.

Dark mode is a display preference and nothing more. It changes no data, no permission and nothing a customer sees.
