Glossary
Capability (or feature key)
: A named thing your plan either includes or does not, such as pos.payments. The
dashboard uses these to decide what to show you.
Dashboard : The web application you manage the restaurant in. Not the POS app.
POS app : The Android or iOS application on a till or tablet, which holds the register, the kitchen display and the floor plan.
Drawer shift : One person’s session with one cash drawer, on one device. Scoped to the person and the device, which is why a shared login causes trouble — see One login per person, one role per login.
Day close : Ending the trading day: the day report is produced and the till is reconciled.
Entitlement : The resolved answer to “does this restaurant have this capability right now”, taking the plan, your own on/off switches and prerequisites into account.
Location (or branch) : One physical venue. A restaurant account can hold several on the Enterprise plan.
Branch offerings : Per-location switches for what that venue does — dine-in, pickup, delivery, tables, reservations. They hide screens even when the plan includes them.
Order taker : The internal name of the floor-staff role. It is shown to you as Waiter.
Storefront : Your public, customer-facing ordering page.
Tenant : The internal word for one restaurant account. You may see it in support conversations.
Trial : The period after signup during which you have a plan without paying. See Trials and what happens when one ends.
