A menu entry is missing from the sidebar

A screen missing from the sidebar is almost never a fault. The dashboard hides what you cannot use rather than showing a button that fails. Work down this list — the causes are in rough order of how often they turn out to be the answer.

The sidebar is built from your permissions. A waiter has no Reports; a kitchen hand has no Settings. Check what your role holds in Roles and what each person can do, and ask an owner or manager if you need more.

This is the answer most of the time, and it is also the one people check last.

2. The restaurant has switched the feature off

Section titled “2. The restaurant has switched the feature off”

Setup → Features can turn off anything in your plan. A venue with no table service often turns off reservations and the floor plan deliberately. The switch shows Off · Disabled by restaurant and anyone with manage-settings can turn it back on — see Turn features on and off.

Some features ship switched off even though they are in the plan: courses, table sessions, split checks and seat tracking. If one of those has never appeared, this is why.

Then the Features screen shows Unavailable with an Upgrade plan link instead of a switch. See Why a feature is locked and What each plan includes.

Some features need another one first, and the Features screen names it as Requires prerequisite. Inter-location transfers is the live example: it needs multiple locations, so it stays unavailable on a plan that lists it but has no multi-location feature.

Each branch declares what it offers, and the floor tools — tables, dining rooms, reservations, waitlist — all require dine-in. A branch with dine-in switched off has no Tables screen however many tables exist in the system. Check What this branch offers in Locations and branch offerings, and check which branch you have selected in the header.

Not in the sidebar on any of those counts?

Register, the kitchen display and the floor plan are not in the web dashboard at all. They live in the POS app on a device, which is where a drawer, a printer and a card reader are. See What the POS app does.
