Legal details

Setup → Legal Details is labelled Compliance, and the dashboard is precise about when it matters:

Your business and representative details. Needed only when we process card payments for you — cash orders never depend on it.

The screen tells you which of two situations you are in.

Needed for card payments. You chose to take card payments through RestroManage, so we need these details before we can process cards on your behalf. Cash and pay-at-counter orders work in the meantime, so you are not blocked from trading.

Not required for your setup. The payment method you chose does not need this verification. You can still complete it — the details are reused for invoices, receipts and any card method you add later.

In other words: a cash-only venue can skip this screen entirely, and a venue that adds card payments in six months will be asked for it then.

Entity type (individual or company), legal business name, business registration number, tax ID type and tax ID value.

Which registration fields you see depends on your country — the screen names it, with a link back to Localisation to change it. Change the country before submitting, not after; changing it afterwards may mean resubmitting.

First and last name, email, phone, country, and date of birth for the person who represents the business.

The phone field wants the local number without the + or the country code — the country is the separate field next to it.

Address line 1, city, state or province, postal code.

A single confirmation that the details are correct, then Submit Legal Details.

Status What it means
Not Submitted Nothing sent yet.
Submitted Received.
Under Review Being reviewed. Fields are locked until a decision is made.
Approved Done. Card processing can proceed.
Rejected A reason is shown above the form. Correct the details and resubmit.

While a submission is under review you cannot edit it: Our team is reviewing your submission. You’ll be notified by email when the review is complete. No changes can be made until a decision is reached.

A rejection shows the reason, and Edit & Resubmit reopens the form.

Legal details are the verification data. Connecting your payout account, and the Stripe onboarding that follows, is on Payments and accounts. Both have to be complete before card money reaches your bank — if Stripe says your onboarding is incomplete, see Stripe onboarding incomplete.

Your submitted tax ID is synced to Tax and pricing as a read-only field, and printed on customer receipts and PDF invoices for compliance. That is why the only way to correct it is here.
