What the POS app does

RestroManage has two front ends, and they do not do the same job.

The web dashboard is where you set the restaurant up and look at what happened: the menu, staff, prices, settings, storefront, reports and the business day close. It is the authority on everything you configure.

The POS app is where service actually happens. It runs on an Android tablet, a phone, or a counter POS terminal, and it holds the three screens the dashboard does not have at all.

Screen What it is for
Register Ringing up a sale at the counter, taking cash or card, printing.
Kitchen The kitchen display — new tickets, in prep, ready to serve, bump.
Floor Plan (shown as Tables to staff who can only view them) Tapping a table to open, add to or settle its order.
Plans
Brasserie, Signature, Enterprise
Can it be switched off?
No. It is part of every plan that includes it and cannot be switched off.
Needs first
Menu catalogue. This stays off until all of them are in your plan and switched on.

If you have been looking for a register or a kitchen screen in your browser, that is why you cannot find it. Those paths are reserved in the dashboard but deliberately not built there: a register needs a cash drawer, a receipt printer and a card reader attached to the device in front of the person using it, and a browser tab on an office laptop is the wrong place for all three.

Beyond the three service screens, the app covers what staff need during a shift without walking to the office:

  • Dashboard — the day’s figures at a glance
  • Orders — the full order list, filters, and order detail
  • Reservations — the bookings for the selected location
  • Products and Coupons — for staff whose role allows catalog changes
  • Reports — including the day report and Day close for the whole restaurant
  • Cash drawer / Waiter bank — the cash shift for this device, or your personal float
  • Settings — this device’s own settings, your profile, staff, and the device list

What each person sees is filtered by their role, not by the device. A waiter signing in on a tablet gets Tables and Orders; a manager signing in on the same tablet gets the rest as well. See Roles and what each person can do.
