Reports and the day close on the device
Reports on the device is a working set of numbers for the floor, plus the screen that ends the restaurant day. The deeper analysis lives in the web dashboard — Reports overview.
- Plans
- Brasserie, Signature, Enterprise
- Can it be switched off?
- No. It is part of every plan that includes it and cannot be switched off.
The numbers
Section titled “The numbers”Pick a period — Today, This Week, This Month or This Year — and you get:
Total Revenue · Total Orders · Avg. Order Value · Total Tips
then three breakdowns: Revenue by Date, Revenue by Method and Revenue by Type.
The day report
Section titled “The day report”Day report prints in three shapes, and they answer different questions:
| Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Summary | The one-page end-of-day figure |
| By item | What sold, for the kitchen and for ordering |
| By order | A line per order, for checking something specific |
Print day report needs a printer registered to this device. Without one:
No active registered printer
Day cash reconciliation
Section titled “Day cash reconciliation”This is the end-of-day cash count for the whole restaurant, and it is not the same thing as a till shift. The screen says so:
Day expected cash = settled cash tenders for this business day (no opening float). Separate from Cash drawer shifts below — close the till shift first if one is still open.
Two things follow from that. Opening floats are excluded — the day figure is sales, not drawer contents. And a till shift still open blocks a clean day close, which is what the open-till warning on this screen is telling you.
Each till appears as its own row — Till Front (#2) — with its Opening float, Cash sales
and Till expected.
Then you enter Counted cash, and the screen shows Variance, or Projected variance where a till is still open and its final figure is not in yet.
Blind day counts
Section titled “Blind day counts”Where blind counting is on, you have to commit a number before the screen will show you what it expected:
Enter counted cash first — expected amount is shown after you count (blind count).
Closing the day
Section titled “Closing the day”Close day ends the business day. Once closed, the screen shows who did it and when —
Closed by Dana at 11:42 pm — and the button becomes Update day close for a correction.
Day report and close covers what closing the day means for accounting and for the next day’s figures.
