Reservations and the waitlist on the device

Reservations on the device covers taking a booking at the host stand and working the book through service. Reservations and the waitlist covers the policy side.

Plans
Brasserie, Signature, Enterprise
Can it be switched off?
Yes — an owner or manager can turn it off under Setup → Features.
Needs first
Rooms and floor plan. This stays off until all of them are in your plan and switched on.

New Reservation asks for a date, then a time. Time slots come from your business hours and turn durations, so a date with nothing bookable says so:

No time slots available for this date.

You can still key a time by hand as HH:mm when you are deliberately overbooking or seating outside normal hours.

Then: guest name, phone, email, guest count, an optional Table, and Special Requests.

A reservation belongs to a location, so the header has to have one picked:

Select a location in the header before creating a reservation.

Assign Table attaches a booking to a table. Update Status moves it along, and there are six statuses:

Status Means
Pending Taken but not confirmed
Confirmed Confirmed with the guest
Seated The party is at the table
Completed They have left and the table is free
Cancelled Called off in advance
No Show Did not arrive

Cancelled and No Show both ask you to confirm, because both are counted against the guest’s history and neither can be undone by changing your mind a second later.

The Floor Plan has a Reservations view that shows the same bookings laid over the tables, with covers booked per table and a Next: … line on each table. For a host working a busy room that view is usually faster than the list.

From there you can Mark arrived, Assign guest and Seat guest without leaving the plan.

The floor plan’s Waitlist handles walk-ins who are waiting rather than booked. Add a party name, size and phone with Add walk-in, Notify them when a table frees, and Seat them onto it. When nothing is queued:

No parties waiting.

Reservations are cached on the device, so you can read the book with no connection — but you are reading a snapshot:

Showing reservations saved on this device. They will refresh when the connection returns.

A booking taken on another device during that time will not be in your list. On a busy service that is a real risk of double-seating a table, so take the connection seriously at the host stand.
