Reservations and the waitlist

Service → Reservations is the booking list, with the walk-in waitlist on the same screen.

Needs the reservations capability on your plan, and the branch must have Reservations switched on. The waitlist sits behind the same capability.

Each reservation carries a name, phone, email, party size, date, time, a free-text message (the placeholder suggests “Dietary requirements, special requests…”), when it was created, its status, and the table assigned to it.

Search matches on name, email, phone, date or message. Columns lets you choose what you see.

You can create a reservation yourself, edit one, assign a table, or delete one. Deleting warns you first and cannot be undone.

Status Means
Pending Booked, not yet confirmed by you
Confirmed You have confirmed it; no table chosen yet
Assigned A table is reserved for this booking
Seated The party has arrived and sat down
Completed The visit is finished
Cancelled Cancelled, by you or by the guest
No Show They did not arrive

Record No Show rather than deleting the booking. A deleted no-show is a party you will hold a table for again next month.

Assign Table takes a table number, and the screen tells you what happens next: “Assigning a table will automatically set the status to ‘Assigned’.”

The reverse also holds — you cannot set the status to Assigned without naming a table: “Table number is required when status is set to ‘Assigned’.” A booking that claims a table without saying which one is worse than no booking at all.

While a table is assigned, it shows as Reserved on Dining Tables.

A reservation can carry a deposit, held or none. It is marked record only — RestroManage records that you took a deposit; it does not take it. Collect it however you already do and note it here.

Beside the reservations is the waitlist, for walk-ins when you are full. An entry has a party name, party size, an optional phone, optional notes, and an optional quoted wait in minutes.

An entry moves through: waiting → notified → seated, or ends as cancelled or no show. Seating an entry assigns it a table, which is the same action a host performs on the POS floor screen — the two stay in step.

The quoted wait is the number you say out loud at the door. Writing it down is what lets you find out later whether you are habitually optimistic about it.
