Day report and close
The day report is the end-of-service document: what was sold, how it was paid for, and whether the cash adds up. It opens from Day report & close at the top of the Reports screen and is titled Day / Shift Report.
- Plans
- Brasserie, Signature, Enterprise
- Can it be switched off?
- No. It is part of every plan that includes it and cannot be switched off.
- Needs first
- POS and in-house orders. This stays off until all of them are in your plan and switched on.
Opening it
Section titled “Opening it”Money → Reports → Day report & close. Set the Business date at the top; the report reloads for whichever day you pick, so you can reconcile yesterday this morning.
Reading the report needs tenant.reports.financial or tenant.register.day_close. Closing
the day needs tenant.register.day_close — managers and cashiers have it, waiters do not.
The three report types
Section titled “The three report types”Report type switches what the body shows:
| Type | Shows |
|---|---|
| Summary | Payment-method totals and the cash reconciliation |
| By item | Item sales: Item and Qty, so you can see what actually sold |
| By order | Every order in the day, with method, status and amount |
By item is the one to use when you are deciding what to prep tomorrow. It says No items sold on this day. when the day is empty, which on a day you know was busy means the orders were never completed — check Orders before you believe the report.
Cash reconciliation
Section titled “Cash reconciliation”The Cash reconciliation block is the reason this screen exists.
- Expected cash is calculated: opening float, plus cash sales, plus and minus every recorded movement. You cannot type it.
- Counted cash is what you physically counted. You type it.
- Variance is the difference, and it is shown only after the day is closed.
- Note is where you explain the variance. Use it every time there is one.
Then Close day.
A variance is not a disaster; an unexplained variance is. A consistent small shortfall is usually change-making, a consistent large one is usually a missed safe drop, and a one-off large one is worth reading the register-session history over.
Printing and exporting
Section titled “Printing and exporting”Three buttons sit at the top of the report:
- Print receipt sends a 58 mm version to the location’s active printer, through the same print path as a kitchen ticket. If no printer is configured it says so rather than failing silently — see Orders not printing.
- Print page uses the browser’s own print dialogue, for A4.
- Download CSV downloads the current report type, so By item and By order export different files.
Export for accounting is a separate dropdown listing the accounting providers you have connected. It exports in that provider’s format rather than a generic CSV — see Accounting integrations.
Register sessions
Section titled “Register sessions”Below the reconciliation, Register sessions (cash drawers) lists the tills themselves: “Per-device till opens, closes, and cash removals with staff identity for this business day.” That panel has its own page — Drawer shifts, floats and safe drops.
