Staff attendance
Team → Attendance is the screen the dashboard titles People operations. Staff clock in and out at a station you put on the wall, you review the hours, and approved hours leave as a payroll file.
- Plans
- Brasserie, Signature, Enterprise
- Can it be switched off?
- Yes — an owner or manager can turn it off under Setup → Features.
- Limit
- Up to 1000 (stations). Your own limit is set on your plan and may be lower.
Everything else on this page builds on that one feature, and each part lists its own plans where it appears below.
Stations
Section titled “Stations”A station is a physical point where people clock in. You create one per entrance, back door or staff room, and it belongs to a branch.
One station can offer more than one method at once — the screen’s own line is One secure station can support QR, NFC, or both. The three modes:
| Mode | What you put on the wall |
|---|---|
| QR plate | A printed QR code |
| NFC plate | An NFC tag staff tap their phone against |
| Rotating screen QR | A code on a screen that changes every few seconds |
NFC plates
Section titled “NFC plates”- Plans
- Signature, Enterprise
- Can it be switched off?
- Yes — an owner or manager can turn it off under Setup → Features.
- Needs first
- QR clock-in and clock-out. This stays off until all of them are in your plan and switched on.
NFC is for venues where a printed code gets wet, greasy or peeled off. Staff tap instead of scanning. Where the plan does not include it the dashboard says NFC can be enabled for this restaurant from the central plan dashboard — ask RestroManage rather than looking for a switch.
Rotating screen QR
Section titled “Rotating screen QR”- Plans
- Signature, Enterprise
- Can it be switched off?
- Yes — an owner or manager can turn it off under Setup → Features.
- Needs first
- QR clock-in and clock-out. This stays off until all of them are in your plan and switched on.
A code that refreshes on a timer, so a photograph of it stops working almost immediately. Use it where a printed plate could be scanned from a staff group chat. The screen shows the countdown: Code refreshes in {seconds} seconds · QR plate remains the fallback — the station’s printed plate keeps working, so a dead screen never means nobody can start their shift.
Geofencing
Section titled “Geofencing”A station can require people to actually be at the venue. Three settings:
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Off | Location is not checked |
| Advisory | Location is advisory and will not block your shift |
| Strict | You must be within the configured area |
With Advisory or Strict you also set a radius in metres. Advisory is the safe starting point: you find out how often location is wrong at your venue before it can stop anyone working.
Clocking in and out
Section titled “Clocking in and out”Staff scan or tap, and clock in. The same station clocks them out at the end. Currently clocked in on the dashboard shows who is on shift right now at that branch, or Nobody is clocked in at this location.
Breaks are started and ended on the station too, and a break has to be finished first: trying to clock out mid-break gives End your break before clocking out.
Each person can see and act on their own attendance without any extra permission. Seeing everyone’s needs the attendance view or manage permission.
Timesheets, corrections and approvals
Section titled “Timesheets, corrections and approvals”- Plans
- Brasserie, Signature, Enterprise
- Can it be switched off?
- Yes — an owner or manager can turn it off under Setup → Features.
- Needs first
- QR clock-in and clock-out. This stays off until all of them are in your plan and switched on.
The timesheet lists closed shifts per person, with a filter by date and branch.
Corrections
Section titled “Corrections”- Plans
- Signature, Enterprise
- Can it be switched off?
- Yes — an owner or manager can turn it off under Setup → Features.
- Needs first
- Attendance management. This stays off until all of them are in your plan and switched on.
Somebody forgets to clock out, or clocks in at the wrong station. A manager corrects the shift, and the correction is recorded as such — the entry is marked as an audited correction, so the original times are never silently overwritten.
A corrected or submitted shift is then Approved or Rejected. An approval can carry a note; a rejection asks for a reason. Both stay on the record.
Payroll export
Section titled “Payroll export”- Plans
- Signature, Enterprise
- Can it be switched off?
- Yes — an owner or manager can turn it off under Setup → Features.
- Needs first
- Attendance management. This stays off until all of them are in your plan and switched on.
Export payroll CSV produces the file you hand to whoever runs your payroll. One sentence is worth memorising before you do: Only approved closed shifts appear in payroll exports.
So an open shift, or a closed shift nobody has approved, is simply absent from the file. Work through the timesheet and approve before you export, not after somebody notices hours are missing.
Station health
Section titled “Station health”Station health · last 30 days shows whether each station is actually being used — a station with no clock-ins for a week is usually a plate that has fallen off the wall, not a team that stopped turning up.
Across several branches
Section titled “Across several branches”- Plans
- Enterprise
- Can it be switched off?
- Yes — an owner or manager can turn it off under Setup → Features.
- Needs first
- Multiple locations, Attendance management. This stays off until all of them are in your plan and switched on.
The group report is a Cross-location staffing and approval summary — who is on, and what is waiting for approval, across every branch at once.
Where to go next
Section titled “Where to go next”- Add a staff member — people have to exist before they can clock in
- Locations and branch offerings — stations belong to a branch
