Dining tables and QR codes
Service → Dining Tables & QR is where you create your table numbers and the QR codes guests scan. The screen describes itself as: “Create table numbers and share QR codes so guests can open your menu.”
Needs the tables capability on your plan, and the branch must have Tables switched on. If the entry is missing from the sidebar, check that first — see Why a menu entry is missing.
Add a table
Section titled “Add a table”Add table, then a table number. The field is free text, not a number — 12 and A-4 are
both fine, and the placeholder suggests exactly those. Use whatever your floor staff already
say out loud.
Each table has:
- Status — Active or Inactive. Inactive keeps the table and its history without offering it for new orders.
- Chairs — click the count to edit it, then Save chairs. This is what makes party-size matching useful on reservations.
- Room — which dining area it belongs to.
- Availability — Available, Occupied or Reserved.
Availability is automatic
Section titled “Availability is automatic”The default is Automatic (from orders & reservations): a table with an open order shows Occupied, a table with a reservation against it shows Reserved, and everything else shows Available. You do not maintain it by hand.
You can override it with Set table availability when reality disagrees with the system — a table being cleaned, a table pushed into a group of six.
Clear does the opposite: it “Mark[s] the open order complete and clear[s] the table” in one action. That is the end-of-meal button, not a cancel.
Rooms group tables by dining area — Main Dining, Patio, Upstairs. The screen’s own note is the reason to bother: “Organize tables by dining area. The floor plan on POS uses these rooms.”
The floor plan lives on the POS app, not the web dashboard. Rooms you create here are what it draws.
A table must belong to a room (“Select a room”), and you cannot delete your last one: “Create another room before deleting this one.”
The QR code
Section titled “The QR code”Each table has its own QR code. Show QR code displays it, Download QR code gives you a file to print and stand on the table, and Copy menu link gives you the plain URL.
What the guest gets is your menu, for that table. Scanning tells your storefront which table they are sitting at, so an order placed from the phone arrives already attached to the right table.
Regenerate link issues a new code and invalidates the old one. Use it if a printed code has escaped into the world — a photo on social media, a card taken home — and you would rather it stopped working.
Deleting a table
Section titled “Deleting a table”Delete table removes it. Past orders keep their table number as recorded, so your history does not change — but if you only want to take the table out of service, Inactive is the better tool.
